A two-day workshop was recently held on Hiva Oa to highlight the unique characteristics of the Marquesas.  The meeting was part of a week-long assembly of archaeologists, historians and heritage specialists who met with the goal of discussing and solidifying the Marquesas nomination to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
